Kids Swimming
and having Fun for Health
The activity of kids swimming and feeling comfortable in water is very important for child health and further development.
As much as I've seen and I remember from my own infancy, kids love playing in water. It's something natural and instinctual and parents should encourage this early education on water activities for their child's further development.
Kids swimming benefits
Studies show that swimming is an excellent activity for children's evolution, with a lot of health benefits on their mental, physical and emotional level:
- Children participating in swimming programs have been found to score higher for intelligence and problem-solving.
- Children who swim year round are found to be more self-disciplined, and more motivated and self-confident to succeed.
- Water also acts as resistance to help build muscle strength - consequently, children grow significantly stronger and more coordinated.
- Maybe one of the most important benefits of water activities for kids is that they will breath the fresh air, charged with healthy negative ions which it have been proven to have a good impact to their respiratory system.
Besides all its obvious health benefits, swimming is fun - says Christophe from enjoy-swimming.com and learning how to swim for kids and adults can become an enjoyable task.
Early Child Development
It's rare that kids may develop a fear of water, and this can happen only if they are accidentally exposed to an unfriendly situation.
To encourage kids swimming, first you have to attract them to water. Water toys and a safe and enjoyable environment can play a big roll in helping them to be confident in the first place.
Funny enjoyable swimming accessories offer beginners full flotation support, and will make them love this environment with no fear.
Adequate swimming equipment like a swimming vest, a pair of funny arm bands, or a pair of goggles - which will prevent the water going in their eyes, will help them to start.
Kids swimming, or at least trying to... are adorable to watch :) I'd like to show you some more photos I took of this cute little girl playing in the pool, while being helped by her parents to develop her natural swimming skills:

Children are swimming and learning
Snorkeling and Scuba diving are excellent ways to attract kids to swimming and they are at the same time educational. Even if they are just simple toys like a "sea window" on a snorkeling raft that allows them to see underwater, or other snorkeling devices, bring interest to children and attract them to swimming or to do more water activities.

This means actively watching them, not just glancing up every now and then. Don't assume they will splash and yell for help if they get into trouble. Children can drown quietly in just a few minutes.
